Our Calling & Commission
What began as a vision God placed upon our hearts was beautifully affirmed through a prophetic word and prayer spoken over us by our pastors, Pastors Kent and Beverly Mattox of Word Alive International Outreach. With blessings of grace, peace, and favor, we were apostolically commissioned and sent forth into the arena of publishing to help share and multiply God’s Word through the written and printed page.
This calling is beautifully reflected in Psalm 68:11, a Scripture prayed over us during our commissioning and one that continues to hold a special place in our hearts. “The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.”— Psalm 68:11

Meet The Team
Angel is a creative who loves sparking passion in others to use their talents and gifts for their own unique calling. She is a storyteller and she wrote her first book in the fifth grade, a testimony called "Lost in Washington, DC," and was even the illustrator of her own book. Her love for books runs deep, and she and her husband, Jonathan have spent many dates in bookstores enjoying their love for books together. Jonathan and Angel love giving bibles and books away to be a blessing and inspire others on their faith journey. She is a faithful encourager with a fun loving personality. She is the author of several books. Angel has spent years learning the publishing industry surrounded by people in the field, attending writers conferences and summits, collaborating in virtual and in person breakout sessions with like minded colleagues and authors, training and growing alongside them, and working at a bookstore. Little did she know, God was writing her story through every one of those experiences, preparing her and Jonathan all along for the vision He would birth in their hearts. For Jonathan and Angel, this is more than publishing books, it is their purpose and their calling. They are honored to know they are in alignment for this God given assignment, helping people tell their stories for such a time as this.
Jonathan has always had a love for books and a passion for learning. His background in music and business, combined with his remarkable ability to teach himself new skills, has shaped his appreciation for creativity, knowledge, and the power of a well-told story. An avid reader and lifelong learner, Jonathan enjoys expanding his understanding of the world around him. His love for languages began with studying Spanish in high school and has continued through his interest in learning Hebrew. At Zebra Press Co., Jonathan plays an important role in helping authors bring their manuscripts to publication. From reviewing manuscripts and overseeing formatting to preparing finished books for publication through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), he approaches each project with patience, care, and attention to detail. Known for his compassionate heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering integrity, Jonathan genuinely loves seeing others succeed. He has a special desire to encourage believers to step out in faith and pursue the gifts and dreams God has placed within them. Whether he is immersed in a good book, learning something new, or sharing a laugh with those around him, Jonathan brings kindness, humor, and a heart for serving others into everything he does.
Shawn brings more than 30 years of experience in publishing, book retailing, and product development to the Zebra Press Co. team. He served as the President of a children’s book publishing company while also launching the publishing arm of Brookstone Publishing Group before it was acquired. Shawn has brought fiction, nonfiction, YA, and children’s books to market. He coaches speakers and pastors in turning their messages into evergreen book products and ghostwrites for those who need additional support bringing their stories and ideas to the page. Through his collaboration with Zebra Press Co., Shawn brings extensive industry experience, creativity, and a deep understanding of the publishing journey to authors, speakers, and pastors at every stage. His goal is simple: to help people move from the message in their heart to a book that can impact lives for years to come.
Tan brings her gift of creativity to our team in a way that touches every project. She is a visionary who designs graphics, builds websites, codes, and creates masterpieces. Her nickname is Tan with the Master Plan. You tell Tan the plan and she makes it GRAND, From book covers to graphics to logos, Tan’s design work carries a signature blend of wisdom and talent that helps every author’s story come to life visually before a single page is even opened. She is gifted to bring your ideas to life.
Beyond the screen, Tan loves to sing and has smooth dance moves like no other. In her free time she loves to travel, ride boats, and ride motorcycles. She has a gift for caring for people and meeting needs wherever she sees them. She loves her family and she’s a giver at heart, with a special love for real estate and helping people find a place to call home, starting with room rentals, house rentals, building, buying, selling, or investing to increase someone's cash flow.She is successful in all she does, Tan pours the same heart and excellence into every project at Zebra Press Co and beyond.
Mickie brings her editing gifts to our team, along with a deep love for language, a servant’s heart, and a genuine passion for people. A gifted nurturer, she believes every author deserves to feel encouraged, supported, and valued throughout the publishing journey, and her compassionate spirit and thoughtful guidance create a space where writers can confidently share the stories God has placed on their hearts. That same servant’s heart shows up outside of work too, as she takes care of people and serves families both in her church and on mission trips to Germany. Loyal, faithful, and kind, Mickie approaches every manuscript with excellence and care, protecting each author’s unique voice while helping their message shine. Whether she’s refining a final draft or encouraging a first time writer, Mickie considers it a privilege to use her gifts to glorify God and help bring meaningful, life changing stories into the world.
